Exchange Rates

As some people know, i'm off to Belgium on Saturday with my sister and I want to know which is the best place to get Euro's from for the best rate. The Post Office are doing €1.08/£1 but I also looked at the Natwest rate, and shockingly they are only doing €1.04/£1.

Does anyone know any other place which beats the Post Office for best rates of Euro's, as I need to get them this week?

Ta.

I've always exchanged pounds for euro's at the post office as they normally do the best rates although given the state of the £ aginst it at the mo dont think you will better it

I usually just draw out what I need at a cash point. It may not be the best deal financially but for convenience you can't be it. Certainly better in my eyes than carrying all your cash for the whole trip with you.

Don't waste your time over it, you're a teacher, you do the maths.

You're probably only taking a grand or so, 1 cent difference in the rate is worth approximately a whole £10.00 or so. Rather than going up and down the highstreet trying to save a tenner, just enjoy the couple of hours that you would have otherwise wasted.

I'm only going for the day, so hopefully I wont be spending a grand!

I'll probably just go and use the Post Office.

Thanks for all the other posts though.

M&S is usually good, if you have a credit card then pay for any major expenses out there with your card as you'll get the business rate

You'll probably end up getting a better deal in Belgium, had the same thing happen when I went to Egypt last year where the exchange rate was a lot better than what I managed to get in the Post Office.

Depending on the card no, no and thrice no! Majority of cards charge a fee - so you get a reasonable rate but they'll charge you a few percent for the privelege.

Berrichone, i think that it should recover , last couple of weeks have looked good (gbp v eur), doubt £ will get back to 2US$ though
