After reading a couple of very poor novels in quick succession my wife and i were having a discussion about this, when she came out with the old line that supposedly "everyone has a book in them."

Personally i think it is a load of rubbish as i don't believe that the billions of people out in the big wide world could all string enough words together to contruct a book. Besides think of the damage to the rainforests with all that paper being used.

My evidence for this is...

The above. I am about as good at constructing a sentence as an elephant is at playing hide and seek.

It's a case of finding something you are passionate about and turning it into something that will interest others. So I think if you apply yourself then yes, anyone could write a book.

'Come on Nelly, your turn to hide'

I am thinking of writing a book about nature walks along the South Essex coastline.

Who has to say it'll be a good book. ;)

A silly number of books are recieved by publishers every year, I think it's roughly 5% that actually make it into print! One day I'll write a best selling opus on the lives and loves of an eclectic bunch of football fans who post on a website, and how at the end of season party, every one dances along to S Club 7 and has a big old hug.

I think its true, I feel at 31 I have already had a full and often crazy(and I mean crazy) life, than there is the lifetime of following a small football team all over the country getting up to all sorts

sad that i think it's more likely that i'll have a textbook than a novel out in my lifetime

I have written two books.although never had them published ..but that is because I was to shy to seek failure....

One was a Kids book many many years ago about an Ant and how he got lost in his little world.....

The second.....was a kinda life thing......

I still have them both in manuscript form to pass on to all you Philistines later in life ...:p

Send them to a publisher mate, what have you got to lose?

You should go for it mate and get it done. You only get one life and it sounds like yours has been an interesting one.
