just got back, left early to avoid traffic and from what i understand, missed citys last goal. a good game, bristol put up a decent fight but were definately beaten by the better side. the difference, same old cliche - col u were well organised and provided strength in midfield - in particular neil danns who was definately m.o.m. he had the extra bit of class needed to provide that spark especially ater they went one down. are they better than us? a very tough call. based on there performance tonight, if we play like we did against brentford we would kill them, on an average performance, i wouldnt like to say - could go either way. i havnt been able to see many of our games this year so i couldnt say whether they were the best side in the league but from what i have seen, swansea, with trundle were better than them.
one other point of interest. from what ive seen both sides best players are central midfielders - guttridge and danns respectively, on a 'player versus player' battle i thought danns was better. he plays a very similar game to luke but is much more dangerous in front of goal. obviously this is only based on one game but if he plays like that every week, we MUST keep him quiet when we play them otherwise we could suffer. last few things, iwelumo was more effective than when we played them earlier in season - won the majority in the air and was excellent at holding the ball up which danns was feeding off. halford was average but better than at roots hall

sorry if the above is all a bit confusing, just a few comments from the top of my head

Youre scout ranking is fully deserved

A good summary

I also went tonight, stood with another Shrimper in the City End.

My opinion of Col U is that their team is not particularly talented, but they play to their strengths, and do it very well.

This mainly consists of giving the ball, by whatever means, out wide to Yeates and in particular Halford and getting the ball into the box quickly.

Iwelumo is strong and holds the ball up well, but they aint invinisible!!!

Bristol City were better than when we played there in October, but after Col******r's third goal, they ran out of ideas.

City, however were not helped by 'homer' referee Paul Armstrong and Gary Johnson, who somehow left Marcus Stewart on the bench in favour of Bas savage who, in my opinion, is one of the worst players I have ever seen!

Bristol scored after 2 minutes (deflected goal)
After that we totally outplayed them until half time.
There No 9 Brooker looked good and had a couple of chances when they hit us on the break.
Our 3rd goal killed the game off.
Bas savage was crap, spent half the game on the floor looking for free kicks.

Danns is a quality player but I have to say at this moment in time I wouldn't swap Guttridge for ANY other midfielder in League One.

Think that we have played much, much better than that this season but, as you're probably aware yourselves, it's important to keep the points tally ticking over.

We havent played to our abilities in the last two games but collected six points and scored five goals.

When we do find top gear again, well, then we're cooking on gas!

March 4th - god, I'm getting nervous already

sky sports - danns
I've been to Luton today, and heard two people talking in the refectory at the University, and one said "I see that bloke we are signing from Col******r scored another two last night." Hopefully, he is on his way to Luton.

Quote[/b] ]"We know several clubs are very interested in Neil," his advisor Tony Finnigan told skysports.com.

"We can confirm that Neil has rejected the offer of a new contract and is now considering his options.

"But as he proved on Tuesday night with his spectacular display - he is fully committed to Col******r and will always give 100 percent whilst he is there.

"I can also confirm that some of my former managers, including Steve Coppell, have shown a strong interest in Neil."

Sounds very much like agent speak to me, I wouldn't read too much into it.

Get chelsea to sign all there best players for 250k overall as they can do that any day, then they can sell them back after our game!
