It will have been expanded because more teams = more games = more money.

I think the world cup went up from 16 to 24 and then FIFA found that number didn't really work so expanded to 32
If UEFA expand Euros to 32 even Andorra may qualify

I liked the balance they had, whereby the World Cup was more exotic, but the Euros were harder to win.

Not happy with this at all. 16 is a perfect number and keeps the quality high. Bunging another 8 teams in there will not make it a better tournament and it will also decrease the number of countries who can potentially host it.

This is stupid, there is too much football played for the top players as it is. What a joke. Does mean we should get a few home nations in there though
