England vs SA - 3rd ODI

England continue their fine form with Bell and Prior in cruise control

Bell 62 from 55 and Prior 31 off 35 as we are 99-0 off 15

Anyone else see this falling apart if one of Flintoff or KP gets out?

The most depressing thing about that is that it will cement Bell's place in the team.

Good all round performance to be honest but the South Africans without Smith's guidance look a bit lost really.

Bell will never win it but he really took the initiative in a controlled style and hit what I assume to be his first ever six. Flintoff's innings was more composed than normal and Patel added useful runs and looks like a decent bat.

In terms of the response, none of the South Africans seemed to try and seize the initiative after Amla had gone. Broad bowled pretty well, Freddy improved after a twitchy start and obviously Patel took five-for to finish them off. I actually think the five for doesn't really tell the story of the bowling because most of them seemed intent on getting off the pitch as quickly as possible.

They didn't turn up but it's still a series win in the quickest time possible including two absolute hammerings. Very impressive start Mr Pietersen. Now let's complete the series whitewash and go second in the rankings.
