If we get knocked out of Euro 2004 tonight don't be too upset.

We can still all cheer 'Tiger' Tim Henman all the way at Wimbledon or rejoice as some unknown, balding 40 year old wins an Olympic gold in the sailing or ten metre air pistol events.

1. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, old boy.

2. Are you suggesting that, because they're balding and 40 as opposed to international sporting celebrities, we shouldn't bother celebrating their achievements in obtaining Olympic Gold Medals?

Surely it doesn't matter what their sport is - if they achieve Gold in it, then that is the definitive "nuff said", in that they have proved that they are the best in their chosen sport in the world. Surely that's something which, as a nation, we should rejoice and take great pride in...?

Just a thought.

Matt

P.S. Henman will lose in the final to Federer, I reckon - on the same day that Sweden beat Italy in the Final of Euro 2004.
