Looks like the bookies got this one spot on, James...  Very odd but very exciting to think that my mate Jenny is an MP - and one with a pretty solid majority too!

Meanwhile, my own seat (Greenwich) continues to be one of the dullest in the land... Nick Raynsford is still there, and still has a 10,000+ majority... yawn.

ooh, i dunno, Brentwood and Ongar is pretty dull too. Pickles wins again with another 12k majority, meaning he claimed back most of the votes he lost last time around to Martin Bell.

and all this despite the controversies and "corruptions" (ALLEGEDLY) surrounding him...

No - that was one party: the "Vote for Yourself Rainbow Dream Ticket".

It looks as if Ms. Taylor-Dawson's little bit of fun was a bit of an expensive waste of time, given that 37 votes is a lost deposit and then some...

Captain Beany standing on behalf of the New Millennium Bean Party is better...

My seat (Erith & Thamesmead) was held by another useless, faceless, pointless and clueless lefty twerp John Austin with a majority that is as huge as it is lamentable (despite my best efforts)....

Labour got into Basildon again. Tories weren't too far away, only 2,000 votes behind! He's a nice guy and went knocking at peoples door chatting to residents in the area. Shame he didnt get in.

Lib Dems got into Cheltenham again.

No surprise there, my fellow Brentwood citizens perhaps lack a bit of imagination when electing their MP, having said that, there wasn't much of an alternative this year, only the super-arrogant Gavin Stollar.

At least last time we had Monster Raving Looney and the Church Of The Ressurected Elvis (or something like that!) to vote for!

Boring Brentwood!
