Eco friendly confusion...

Davros

The Whippet
Has this happened to anyone else... you try and be a good citizen, save some carrier bags, one day, go to pull one out the draw to re-use it, and it falls into pieces..

How can i re-use carrier bags if they are going to biodegrade while sitting in my draw?

Either they have to make them re-useable or biodegradeable?

Dave, what you have had in your carrier bags in the last shopping trip will have an impact on the condition of them now - ie. weight and size of objects etc.

Can i suggest to be more eco friendly that you buy a couple of the supermarkets hessian bags which can be reused and reused etc etc and they fit very well into the boot of a car. They cost around 50p - £1.00 dependant on size and are great

In theory, a bio degradable bag will not start degrading until it is put into the ground. There is a fairly new type of polythene available called Photo Degradable, which will start degrading in sunlight/daylight after a period of about 2 years, but these are fairly new so you shouldn’t have them in your draw yet. Have you checked for mice?
Sorry to be boring.

I use an Ikea blue bag much to the chagrin of my now ex who pulls a face everytime I get it out the cupboard - I can get all the shopping in it and carry it over my shoulder, no probs.
