Who are the political opponents of the Basques?

The Spanish Government if I am not mistaken, They are a seperatist organisation after autonomy for the basque reqion of Spain. Not disimilar to the IRA in their requirements or action for that matter

Mike may well put me right here......

I think the title "Giant Spain Basque Flag" would have a lot of pulses racing in the bars of Santander and Bilbao. The people of Euskadi would probably very much object as they don't consider themselves part of Spain (the Catalans, Valencianos and Galicians feel very much the same.) The Basques are not very happy people at the moment as they lost a vote in central government a couple of weeks ago which would have given the region more autonomy and, for intents and purposes, a degree of independence (such that Catalunya has). In response, ETA embarked on another bombing campaign targetting tourism on the Costa's (the main economy here in Spain). A few weeks ago they blew up a hotel lobby in Denia, just 15 minutes drive from us here in Jávea, and a week later blew up a bank in Villayojosa just by Benidorm. Last week we had a bomb scare here in Jávea. ETA actually doesn't have that much support from the Basque people but I would guess that secretly many see their activities as a means to a satisfactory conclusion, i.e. independence. But to see the words "Spain" and "Basque" linked to one flag would not be welcome at all ...
