Eastwood to Coventry

Wolves Still Hope To Sell Eastwood

Wolves remain hopeful they will sell misfit striker Freddy Eastwood next week – despite claims from Coventry that the deal is dead.

The £1.2m transfer to take the listed striker is off, according to Sky Blues chairman Ray Ranson.

That is unless Wolves pay Eastwood a final settlement on his contract, or unless the player agrees to drop his demands.

It is believed the 24-year-old has been offered a healthy five-figure sum to smooth his departure, while Coventry have matched his Wolves wages with a four-year contract.

Molineux chief executive Jez Moxey believes the hold-up is between Coventry and Eastwood, as all parties seek to make the most out of the protracted deal.

Ranson said: “The only way the deal could be resolved is if Freddy and Wolves do it as it is between them. But as far as we’re concerned, we’re moving on.”

Wolves remain very hopeful the deal will go through early next week when Coventry return from their pre-season tour of Austria.

Take the money Freddy and get out of there, go somewhere were the manager will appreciate your goal scoring ability.

Freddy needs to take whatever he can get. Not many teams are going to want to pay £1 million for a striker who scored 3 goals last year.

The only thing that has kept his value up is his pretty good record for Wales.

Good shout, I think that he'll prove himself to be class, but another four years on 8K per week, is a contract to set himself up, and that'd take him to 27, but he could/should sign another potentially more lucative deal.

Viva la Eastwood

sky sports news this morning had coleman saying he was still interested in eastwood. maybe freddie is waiting to see if any other offers come in before deciding to move and having to take a pay cut. coleman is a good manager and will get freddie back to his best.

Read in the paper this morning that deal is nearly done for Freddy to go to Coventry for £1million. Good for us regarding sell on clause I think although I must admit as good as Freddy was for us I fail to see how he has hung on to his high price tag.

Don't think we will get any money in this deal unfortunately.

I believe our sell on clause was 20% of any profit (over £1.5 million). As Freddy is reported to be signing for Coventry for £1 million, there is no profit, so does not trigger our sell on clause. :(

Hope he does well.

Still a hero of mine.

Totally agree, Chris Coleman is a cracking manager and will treat him properly. By reading what has been written in that article they rate him very highly so hopefully won't be a repeat of what Prick McCarthy did to him.

Good Luck Freddy do us proud.

Good Luck to him

Hope he gets a hat trick against Wolves.

Would still love to see him back at Southend later in his career.

Freddy Goes To Coventry

Looks like Wolves are going to receive around £1,200,000.00 for Freddy, so no money for us, as our sell on clause was for 20% of any profit. :(
