Hence value diminishes in the short term.I think if he plays Saturday it shows Southend and Fredy will be together for at least a little while, e.g. season's end.

As good as Freddy is, he isn't ready to play higher league football just yet in my opinion. I would say forget this until something official comes from the club, and in the meantime the club should tell t%&ts like Redkanpp to keep his mouth shut, as media speculation and rumpur have upset better players than Freddy Eastwood down the years.

I'm just glad we haven't got an Anglo Italian cup match - would the big guns like Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid come in for Freddy if he was cup tied from the champions league because of a Anglo Italian group game against Perugia or Reggiana!!

Freddy not appearing could be read to indicate a done deal, I reckon.

But I would be very surprised if he didn't play. Wouldn't really knock too much off his value, though, I would imagine, if he were to start.
