Who Would You Have Up Front.

Such a hard question. So many different parts of the equation to take into account. Firstly, Eastwood is class. A menace. Goater plays alongside him very well from my memory, but only has 1 season in him, compared to the logevity of Barnard and Walker. Barnard and Eastwood on the other hand..:stunned:

I've voted Eastwood and Goater, but only because my memory is on the blink.
 
A no brainer. Hopefully Barnard & Walker can prove themselves for a longer period than a couple of months. Goater=legend & Eastwood although a legend has shown he can do it against decent international opposition.
 
Eastwood and Goater achieved for this club over one magnificent season. If Barny and James do as well tht will be fantastic too but give them a chance as it is early days to judge yet and they have really not played together that much yet really.
 
I think we are a much more balanced attack with Barnard and Walker - the goal threats come from many areas of the pitch now, making it harder for teams to defend against us.

As good, and effective, as the Eastwood/Goater combination was I always felt the attack was a little bit one dimensional. Now don't get me wrong it worked brilliantly in the L1 winning season, but I think we were still trying to attack in that manner when in the Championship and it was clearly less successfull.

The way we attack now, I think will make us a handfull for a lot of teams next year if we go up. Hence my vote for B+W.
 
Whole heartedly agree west road shrimper, the forward line has a lot of pace and balance this season, although Eastwood is a very very good player , he was very much on his own up front, Goater i believe was past his best but was put on a pedestal by alot of our fans, barney and Walker for me please, (awesome future with them 2)
 
Excellent question - but have to go for Eastwood and Goater. Both internationals, and both can win games on their own. In time, however, Barney and Walker could do better...
 
Finally a good poll

I say Barnard & Walker.... Eastwood is a legend and goater say no more tbh

But Barnard when he was on the crewe pre match interview v Southend last year on their internet club site... the bloke said some great things about us... we have a great support with potential which ive always say... we can double in size with the new ground and we are a club with a great manager who will be going places... also really saying he would like to play for the Shrimpers if he had the chance... local boy who wants to play for his local club say no more....

Walker on the other hand was gutted when he had his heart problems as he wanted to come to south essex and play football for Southend United FC and Ron n Tilly stuck by the lad and touch wood all has worked out.... I really think he has a future with us

Think "Eddie" and Barney looking a potentially great partnership, one that will take us onwards and upwards but history tells us Freddie and The Goat were different class.
