Eastwood and Barnard

bomma77

Youth Team
Can you image the havoc these two would cause if we had them up front together.

I think it would be our very own smash and grab. Eastwood with his goals out of nothing and 20 yarders, Barnie with his natural poaching ability.

I can dream I suppose.

This combination, combined with a half decent defence, would be more than good enough for a play off place in the Championship. You saw what a decent strike for did for the scum last year and now, without them, they're coming back to where they belong.

Also reminds me of WBA. Not known for their defence but instead for their good football and deadly strikers.

Good strikers can go a long way. Just look at us this year.

Start of season lack of decent striker- poor start.

With Leon we were pushing for play offs.

Without him, or a decent striker, we fell off the pace.

Since January and the transfer of some good strikers to the club we are looking unstoppable.

Like I said after the Gillingham (away) game- if you have an attacking combination that can put real pressure on the opposition defence your own defence will always be better.

As the saying goes-

The best form of defence is attack.

When eastwood was in his prime that would have been amazing,
but towards the end he did go downhill.
However, the amount of goals his scored for wales shows he still has it.
