DVD

I was lucky enough to walk into the shop just as the DVD had been delivered and before it had been noticed that the spine said 2005/2006!
I have just finished watching some of the DVD and it is absoloutely brilliant. I haven't had time to plough through it all because there are so many scene selections.
I am not going to tell people too much about the extras and the editing etc. because I think it spoils it.
However lets just say this DVD is really superb! Pleasure to watch and well done to all involved (Kev Feasey, Dave Scriven and Nick Alliker most notably).
If everyone else has to wait until the end, trust me, it is well well worth it!

Are you talking about the afterlife?

Certainly waiting til the end doesn't sound like something I want to do!

I may even purchase the DVD though and base all future opinion on club DVDs on this one.

to be fair does it matter?

unless it mucks up your 20 year backlog and so it looks like you got one missing with your collection that are all lined up collecting dust.

Many thanks for the positive comments Matt

To everyone else...
Although I will be keeping a keen eye on SZ forum for comments on the DVD, if anybody has any specific comments to make (good or bad, what you like and what you don't like etc etc) I'd be extemely grateful if you would mail them to sufc_review@btinternet.com

Thanks

And those lucky few who bought a copy with the 2005/6 title error will have a more valuable limited edition collectors item in years to come.

Keep it clean and cosy in it's cover and it could be worth almost the 20 quid you pay for it in about 20 years or so!!!

No, deadly seriously I went in the shop yesterday and bought a DVD. I'll even tell you the first few lines of the blurb on the back to prove it!

'Relive the highs and the lows of a Rollercoaster ride of an inforgettable 2004/05 campaign for Southend United. From the opening day clash with Cheltenham to the dramatic triumph over Lincoln City in Cardiff...'

The disc has Eastwood celebrating his playoff final goal on it.

on the subject of purchasing items from the club shop, cant seem to find a the link on the official site anymore. any suggestions or am i going blind?

Does it really say "inforgettable"?

Finally picked up a copy today

Superb from what I've seen so far. The picture quality and the graphics/menus are ace. My only minor minor minor minor quibble is the commentary. It isn't always perfectly in sync and it makes it obvious it has been recorded after the match and not the commentary that was made at the time - in some cases Alliker screams for a goal before the shot has left the strikers foot.

But apart from that it's an amazing effort, well done Dave and Kev the Hobbit for all your hard work in puytting together this epic disc. 9.5/10
