But I am so buzzing and looking forward to Saturday. I can't remember the last time I felt this revved up about the start of a new season.

Sturrock has brought in some good players and we don't have a team full of loanees, I don't remember the last time that happened either.

Let's all get together as a unit on Saturday and get behind the team.

Bring on Saturday and bring on Hereford, that's all I have to say.

Agreed - but we have to play a part too, make Roots Hall a fortress.

Home form is vital to any side chasing play offs and higher, so lets get behind the players, staff and everyone associated with the club. It doesn't mean everyone has to sing, but applause, support and appreciation that teams will try to frustrate us etc at home. But regardless of what happens, lets be positive.

We have a cracking run of results at home - is it 8 unbeaten thus far, lets help to keep that going.

Up the Blues

Yep. It would be good if the majority of the ground could join in with the sing-songs though.

What's done is done. This is a new chapter and we have to move forward.

Let's hear more noise from those outside of V & W blocks this season.

Sing up Southend.

Can't say I'm overly excited about this one. I think we can compete this year, but we won't know whether we are contenders until at least November or December. Summer football is pretty meaningless. This Saturday won't tell us if we are for real or not. It's when it's cold and dark, pitches are heavy and squads are stretched that you see who is equipped to challenge.

Totally agree. The league table begins to take shape around mid to late October, give it another month or two then you begin to see who's going to be there or thereabouts! Consistency plays a key part but then you always get a side who climb up the table late in the day around March time.

However, I am buzzing about Saturday, result never really means much in terms of how good we are/where we'll finish etc but it's always great to start with a win! Roll on 3pm Saturday - few beers inside me, bright bit of sunshine and Roots Hall - lovely!

I can never get motivated about football in August, particularly when there's still 2 test matches left in a series which should see England become the number 1 team in the world.

I'm very encouraged by the signings that Sturrock has mad and I'll be there on Saturday, and I hope we will have a great season.

Can't wait for saturday.

Hopefully 3 points to kick off our campaign, in the sun a decent crown expected and hopefully the blue voice in full voice.
