Done deal

I hate to whet peoples appetites without giving them hard facts but............

I have just heard from my usually very reliable source that at least one deal has been concluded today. The player concerned has been down to the club and had a medical and will possibly travel to Coventry tomorrow, althoguh the deal cannot go through until Tuesday (not sure whether Monday is an operational day for the league).

I have been told to keep the faith and not to worry about our current plight. This player has cost money and at present is not a repalcement for anyone leaving.

I am afraid that is all I have been told. I was however told that the club (!) are aware of my comments posted on here and elsewhere about the fact that our four of our five best players this season were also in our top five in League two, so where is the progress. These comments were made prior to McCormack signing. I am not sure what to make of this statement, but I would caution everyone on here that we are all being watched apparently.

Anyhow, it sounds like good positive news. Lets hope that it is someone who can hit the back of the net!!!!

Ooh you tease! Hopefully a striker who knows how to get that round object into that rectangular space that the goalie stands in front of.

Somewhat annoyingly, I have not been told any more. My guess is a striker but it is only a guess. I did not get the chance to ask questions, I got a text and have told you all it said. I replied but havent heard back. I will of course let you know if I do.

As far as I am concerned, its a free country and when did we loose the wright of freedom of speech? This board ( I am sure) protects that wright as long as There is no slander or defemation of character.

my bet is trundle i dont know why but i have got a strong feeling we will sign him, it could just be a rumour but for some reason i believe it and hope its true

I hate to be a cynic, but this sounds dodgy to me.

Firstly, there is no reason why a deal can't be done outside of the transfer window, it just means he can't play until the window opens. Look at Henrik Larsson at that team we beat a few months back!

And secondly, if it is such a secret why would Southend risk him travelling to Coventry?

Nothing prevents the deal being done today except that very little business would be conducted this week, be it tranfer of funds, registration at the FA.

I have no idea if we've signed anyone. All eyes to Motherwell, Swansea and the Irish guy's team to see if they play this weekend

What on earth do you mean by that? You've hardly made a libellous statement. In fact some might say it was stating the obvious.

.... and another thing, if the club management are wasting their time monitoring this when they should be managing the club, it's no wonder the ticketing and catering are crap.

Guys, calm down!! I didnt infer that anything libelous or against free speech had been said. It was just that I had my words quoted back to me. I have never made a secret of my views and it may not have been picked up from this board. There was no threat or malice in the comment. I was just pointing out that this board and the others are read by people within and close to the club. If you want to say something to the club, you could do worse than posting on here.

As for the reliability of the comments, everyone is, of course, free to make their own judgement. In the context of my message, it was really a case of
".......I know you have doubted the ambitions of the club, but we have this very day concluded a deal which will help you to keep the faith. The player concerned has been at RH today for a medical and hopefully will travel with the team tomorrow, although he wont play........."

Maybe if I post my complaint about stewards at the Man U game swearing at supporters on here it may get answered as addressing it to GK and hand delivering to SUFC has not got a reply
