Dog Racing: Any tips on betting ploys ??

Hi All,

I'm off Dog Racing with a few of the chaps tomorrow and seeing as i've not been for 3+ years i could do with a refresher on the best bets to place .. forecast/reverse forecast etc .. i'm generally hopeless and expect to lose everything i take so maybe someone can point me in the best direction

Best tip is dont bet. As an alternative back the 3 dog in every race and work on the theory that it will win at least once.

Bet on the one that does a banging **** when walking with the trainer before the start.

At your height you could probably saddle one up and ride it home...few would notice.:smiles:

Giddy up!

Traps 1 and 2 Reverse Forecast every race.

Agreed any two of the six for RFC through the card, saves loads of time for socialising(only 15 mins between races) but i would say do some studying of form for the last race for one big punt good luck.

Go for names, always works for me!!! And if that falls within a numbers sequence so much the better!!!

Last time I went I just asked my 6 year old (at the time) daughter. 5 winners out of 6. Just asked her for a number 1-6. :winking:

As it turned out i didnt bet at all, but i would've put £20 on Skinny in the last race as he was the only runner and the bet desk was closed :hilarious: :hilarious:

Some old fart that used to play golf at the local course, now charges on tips for daily racing. With the dogs at Romford he said back the #1 dog every race. Double your stack each each until it wins. It will win. Then stop betting. That's how to make money.

I for one did not check the stats on the #1 dog but find this hard to believe. You also don't make much money this way and it is boring.

I normally go for the dog that takes a **** before the race. This has a 69% strike rate.

Do you mean trap number one, or the favourite?

Anyway, that advice seems along the right lines. To make money from gambling, you need a good staking strategy and the strength to walk away when you're up.

But what if it wins on your first bet - won't win much that way. And what if it doesn't win. That way you're exponentially losing money.
