Does anyone know anything about DHL?

This is a bit of a strange question but where better to get the required answer!:p

I've been having an issue with a guy that I've purchased something off eBay. It was dispatched 10 days ago and from pakistan... the guy gave me a tracking number for a small firm that i think specialises in shipping things over from pakistan and then they get forwarded on by DHL. However that tracking number didn't work and the firm looked suspect so i got worried. yesterday he emailed a tracking number for DHL and he said "as you can see it's in the UK and will be with you tomorrow". When I put it in it says

Shipment Data Received 05/06/07 HAYES SERVICE CENTRE

So what does Shipment Data Received mean?? When I've tracked things with DHL i don't think i have had that come up and it doesn't really say anything useful. I was wondering if anyone here know about these things. I've emailed DHL for some clarity but they aint replied yet.

Cheers,

Jon

Deal with DHL every day, unforunately, that should mean that it's out for delivery and will probably go to your local hub, probably Basildon for delivery to you.

I assume you have the tracking number? DHL don't tell you when they will deliver they will just turn up, if someone isn't at the house to sign then it will go back to the hub, and you will have to arrange an alternative date for delivery, again it won't be timed, but between 9am & 5pm I guess.

Also, if it's originated from Pakistan, customs might have pulled the package for further investigation & that might have added to the delay.

cheers for your help people. yeah i know it will go to basildon first so not sure if i'll get it today or tomorrow. it's my new hockey stick and i had a game last night and was gutted i didn't have it to play with

If it was from Pakistan, was it full of drugs or summat. I am sure you can buy them in the UK!!!

who knows! it's a hockey stick and apparently my mate used to work in importing and he said that drugs used to be smuggled inside hockey sticks and cricket bats so customs used to drill a hole through 1 ever 10 sticks to see... i really don't want a hole in it!

Any savings made will be lost in hassle, waiting around and eventually gonig to Basildon to get it, having to pay some import duty.. Im in favour of the go to sports shop , buy hockey stick , go home

well it's a 200quid stick that ive got for 60quid including delivery so i hope i'm still quids in

haha football is my first love but hockey is a wicked game!! there is nothing girly about seeing teammates losing 4 teeth, or getting a kneecap shattered. last night some guy got a massive cut across his lip. nasty

anyway, who can say that football is a mans game....

yeah i've got a limp and a face only my mum could love!

I wouldn't go anywhere near DHL again. They were supposed to deliver a 3m lenghth of hose for a water butt from evengreener.com. Between the company and DHL they took 52 days and still hadn't delivered. I ended up cancelling the order and going somewhere else.
