Do you think Tilson might ever give up and b*gger off ?

CC51DAS

President
Every season he has to perform miracles to get players in on no dosh and then he is expected to perform miracles with the results .

So do you think he may say enuf's enuf and go somewhere with a bigger budget ??

Personally I can't see him putting up with the current situation for too long unless RM's 'tied him in' in other ways besides the 4 year contract - for instance some sort of bonus clause/ profit share linked to the new stadium / increases in attendance .

At the moment Tilly has a pretty damn good reputation - due in part admittedly to the acheivements while Freddy was here- but if all he can sign is players in the twilight of their careers or third choice cast-offs on loan then his record may be at risk.

Did think this myself.

Must be hard when his hands are tied and the man on the street holds him responsible.

However being who Tilly is works in his favour here (Eg no-one called for his head when we went down) and I think he must know that. I wonder if the local legend magic would work as well elsewhere.

I also assume Tilly has a need to earn like most of us and cannot just quit a job with nothing else to go to. He may of course also be insitutionalised and think he is best served as Southend.

I think if he did leave, then a lot of tilson-bashers would finally see what a great job he has done on a meagre budget

I think the only way that some people will stop moaning is if he did leave. Tilly is, in my opinion, one of the best managers this club has ever had, no matter what happens from this point on.

I for one think it would be a disaster for the club if he did go

I think a lot of people already knows what a great job tilly has done on a meagre budget

Agree with both the above statements, and I firmly believe that Stevie has the long term firmly in sight. Can't remember how long the contracts he and Brush signed were, but I think there's at least another year.

Tilly is indeeed the best manager the club has ever seen butttttttttt he is also ambitious if uncle Ron continues to deny him funds then it is bye bye Tilly

I personally do not think it would stop 'some people' moaning, it would just provide them with a different target.

I was just reading the back of tonights Echo and thinking I hope Tilly doesnt get fed up of things being cut back to allow for the new stadium etc and go... I've always said on here what a great bloke he is and how he loves this club as much as we do but if the Tilson bashing gets going when his hands are tied he is only human eh?!!

The doubters will only realise what a superb manager & coach combo we now have after they've gone.

Our club history is littered with a series of changing and c*** managers & Tilson's longevity alone apart from his achievements, speaks volumes.

Long may both T & B remain.

Yes there will come a time when tilly will up and leave , but i think he'd defo like to lead us out into the new stadium .

Bumped into one of his ex team mates on saturday and the first thing he mentioned was how good of a job he has done with us and that he can see him leaving soon although he hasn't actuallt heard him say it , it is more of a comment on how ambitious he believes he is from his playing days .
