Do you back Tilson to find good replacements?

bishmania

First XI
Simple answer for me - yes, I do.

We lost Freddy and got Barney.

Lost Juppy and got Francis.

Lost Maher and got Bailey and Macca.

Lost Spinner and got Clarke.

Lost Hammell and got Mulgrew.

Poll added please mods?

Not entirely convinced in his player selection sometimes, but if he ever needed a chance to show he can get the right potential players, he has is now!

COME ON TILLY, if you staying that is!!

I can't believe any manager would be able to get us promoted from this position.

It makes the Doncaster game look oh so much worse, we could have kept these in the Championship.

This summer could make or break or Tilson. I think not only will he find good replacements, in the long term i think he'll find better replacements. The man has earned the right over the past season before any brings up the ridiculous rose-tinted argument, for us to back him big time. He has been ruthless and there is no way he wants another season of consolidation, he wants to win the league next year, and he is the perfect man to do it. He will make big signings as he is highly ambitious much like our chairman. I think this move today shows just how ambitious they are, not only are they wanting good players, they're wanting good players who want to play for Southend United on the right wages.

In Tilson and Martin i trust. Southend United will be a championship side this time next season IMO.

There is no way Maher will come back. And honestly, if the chairman and manager want to show ambition and get people through the gate next year then we need to be looking at bigger and better signings than Maher. A fantastic player and servant but the club has moved on.

Sounds good when you look at like that, until you remember Paynter, Harrold, Foran, Dean Morgan, Odhiambo & Gilbert!

I'm hoping that RM is calling the bluffs of the three transfer listed today, as we would be lost without them. That said I understand why he's doing it. Why turn down £750K+ for Bailey, when he can walk away from us in a year for nothing.

RM's policy of offering 1 & 2 year contracts has come back to bite him on the @rse!

i have complete faith in tilly, brush and ron. as bishmania have proved we have been able to replace previous players. we will be getting some decent money for bailey, most definetly more than what we bought him for. he has two years left so we dont have to rush in selling him. everything will be fine with the club.

KEEP THE FAITH!!!!

Baileys still got 2 years left on his contract though and you will also find that it is fairly rare for lower league clubs to offer any more than 2 year deals

Whoa, whoa, whoa here people. Nobody has actually left the club yet and are only in the shop window - does not necessarily mean anybody wants to but them and we do not know what goes on behind close doors. It could also be a bit of reverse psychology as well to see how committed the players really are.
Lets wait and see what occurs in the next couple of weeks and then make judgement

I think he can, but its not going to be easy. I suspect he'll have limited funds, i'm starting to think that the new stadium is taking priority over the team with regards to finances. Also there are lot of quotes, about the need for more youngsters to come out of the academy. Also commitment has been quoted but wasn't Matt Lockwood saying that he was a shrimpers fan as a boy but then he's now signed for Col U. I think we're going cheap, but you can find quality and i think he will find but i don't know if it'll be enough to build on from last season.

Maybe we will be raiding SPURs and ARseNal for there youngsters again?? we might have a Linky with them now???

get a few youngsters on loan again - thats 3 spaces filled
