Luck is what we have been missing for the first half of the season. Since Xmas we have had at last at least an even share. But it is not only about the run of the ball, it is about when you play someone. For instance, I would not wish to play Coventry now but when we went to their place at Xmas they were on a downward spiral and completely crap.
So, what about the mood of our remaining oponents. Will we be playing them at the 'right time'? By and large I think the answer is yes:
Leeds: consistently poor and from reports tonight they were poor again.
Hull: they are on the up but still erratic, Ipswich (who really are C R A P) beat them 5-2 at the KC the week before last. And I think by the time we play them they might be foolishly thinking they are almost safe (if they win on Saturday).
Col Ewe: on a downward spiral and useless away from home.
Preston: the one real tricky one, they should get a play-off place but will need to beat us to help them get there.
Barnsley: this lot are are a mixed bag, but well beatable away from home.
Plymouth: post FA Cup hangover will loom large and they are marooned in mid table with nothing to fight for bar trying to avoid their manager's querky behaviour.
Luton: they will be relegated by the time we play them.
Southampton: on a poor run and should be out of play off contention by the time of the last game.
I hate to tempt fate, but it doesn't look too bad does it?
