Digital Cameras

I currently have a digital camera which is about 4mp but when i take pictures at games under floodlights the pictures never really come out any good.
Artfuls pictures from the LDV game look really good.

What is it that gives the pictures the quality?

If i were to buy a new camera what should i be looking for?

any help would be appreciated.

You need to get one of those black hoods to put over your head and a massive hand held light bulb, then you need to get everyone to stand still for about and hour

I bought my camera because of its big optical zoom 10x.
Its only a fuji s5000 and thats only 3.0 megapixels with an enhanced 6 megapixel facility. Its now superseeded by the s5500 which is 4.0 megapixels.
It also uses AA batteries which is handy as I have quite a few rechargable units at work.
I bought it from 7dayshop.com which is in guernsey. You don't pay cuistoms/tax duties for those in the UK. Although you could be liable to if customs sniffed around the parcel. I ended getting it for half the price of the thing in high street shops and that's withan additional 256Mb Xd card and a plug and play USB reader for the XD card too.

Go for optical zoom and obviously whatever pixel rate you want.

I do use flash sometimes but I have to admit on some snaps i've adjusted the curve in photoshop or use an auto contrast in photoshop. A lot of freeware can do the same if that's all you want.

I bought a magazine first and loked up the recommendtions and then browsed around. That's the best advice I can give. It is addictive and I will upgrade in a couple of years to a monster cam.

Yeah definatly, optical zoom is a physical zoom, the lens moving etc. Digital is just a gimmick that can be recreated in any bit of software.
