As reported a number of weeks ago now, Tilly is interested in Danny Thomas.

As the echo, rightly claimed for the first time, the other night.

As far as I am aware, that article did not actually contain a single quote by Tilson confirming he was interested in Thomas. As I read it, the notion of Thomas as a potential target was pure speculation that Chris Philips possibly put to Tilson and was neither confirmed or denied.   The rumour was of course started by yourself (southend4ever) on this very messageboard a few weeks back.  Now I reckon that Chris Phillips probably got the rumour from Shrimperzone in the first place and included it in his article thus allowing your original rumour to make it into print. Next thing, you find yourself sitting in your front room reading the Echo containing supposed 'confirmation' of a rumour that you actually started in the first place. So now it comes full circle and you cite the Echo as evidence for the salience of a rumour that you posted on Shrimperzone that is probably still without verification.    My argument is that this is an excellent demonstration of the inherent reflexivity of the information society that we currently live in.  Either that or I'm talking b******s.

Thats probably how the Mitchell Cole rumour came about as since the season ended there have been many posters (myself included) who have mentioned him frequently as potentially a good signing on here.

Let's hope it's not Thomas. I've watched him a number of times when he was at Bournemouth, a few tricks here and there but never actually went anywhere on the wing, to the point that it got quite comical.
