Daniel Nardiello

BoyWonder2

2024, the year of the Shrimpers ⭐🦐
I mentioned this guy in passing in another thread on here but thought I'd give it a topic of its own.

Nardiello has been told he can find another club now that QPR are buying fantastic players, like Agyeman from Preston and is an out of favour Championship striker, which is the rumour that we are looking for.

Nardiello Profile

Had a fantastic season with Barnsley when they where back in League One and has a fairly decent scoring record, although he hasn't scored this season but thats down to injuries and being out of favour.

Started his career at Man Utd and has played for Swansea, Barnsley and QPR. Knows where the back of the net is as well.

Worth a punt?

I would say definitely yes on ability and track record, but I would think too rich for our blood in wages terms. Maybe a loan though?

Yeah I flagged him up when he was listed last week.

Would be a decent signing but out of our league Id say.

Certainly worth a punt.
I would have thought he'd be able to find another Championship side to go to though...

But hasn't done much at QPR, because of the reasons I stated. Championship clubs may think League One is about his level.

Unsure whether wages would be a stumbling block, but QPR snapped him up before they had all the money they have now, so wouldn't be on stupid wages.

You don't have to be on stupid wages to be well out of our price range unfortunately.....

Er.....Yeah!!!

Always like Nardiello as a player. He would be a great signing. Having said that I think we have more chance of getting Wayne Rooney on loan. Sadly I fear that Nardiello is out of our league. Shame!

If that's the criteria, get Johnny Allan from Northwich Vic, Cherno Samba from wherever and Adolfo from the Spanish 3rd Division. That would get us 80 goals a season and about 40 assists.

Nardiello's dad Donato played for Coventry and West Brom in the early-mid 70's. I remember the classic commentary line when scoring for West Brom in a midlands derby against Villa in the early 70's, when he exchanged passes with Len Cantello and Ken Foog before scoring> Just think of Bohemian Rhapsody's middle section, the commetary went:

"Nardiello, Len Cantello, Nardiello, to Ken Foggo, Nardiello. Magnificent Gooooooooooaaaaaalllllll."

Shades of a recent Danny Baker podcast there when some bloke came up with lyrics for the whole of Bohemian Rhapsody made up of players names. Duncan Jupp was the only ex-SUFC player to make it in from memory!

Ah, Crowe-Lee-Deehan Delap-Sodje.

There were a few other SUFC names in there, obviously Efe Sodje in the title but also Nicky Bailey featured in the Galileo, Galileo bit (Bailey-Mayo, Bailey-Mayo, Bailey Mayo, Bailey-Mayo Figo-Rowe )
