Cup Round 3

MrB

Life President
Going to be a close one for me tonight, all depends on the team the opposition puts out. Looks like they played their firsts on Sunday though so fingers crossed. Another big crowd would be nice too!

sell out 12000 for 3rd home game running, losing 2-0, fully expected. What are the ground percentages, and how much should I expand to? Am an average level 6 side.

Standard amount is 25 x your supporter club but you probably want to allow for expansion if you can. %ages are 63/25/10/2.

I'm 1-0 down, their possession suggests they've played a strong side. 37,729 in the ground though so can't grumble.

Thanks squire

Teletubbies_2005 - Southend United Football Club 0 - 10

View game: HT Live
Date: 17/01/2006 at 21.00
MatchID: 67149063
Arena: Teletubbies_2005 Arena
Crowd: 13905

13905 spectators arrived at Teletubbies_2005 Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Teletubbies_2005 had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: MacMillan - Leckie, Bourva, Mejer - Malik, Belegija, Otten, Karmiol - Polo, Brochet, Johnson.

Southend started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Bjerre - Bobichon, Briones, Peura - Gaddis, Boldizzoni, Garvey, Wai-Son - Grammatico, Cullis, Bryde.

Southend mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Wes Garvey slipped through the defense to come up alone against Darren MacMillan, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. After 28 minutes Southend's Wes Garvey had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. Grover Wright came in to replace him. The terraces were silenced in the 32nd minute as Southend's Oddone Grammatico put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area, with a near-goal by Mattia Boldizzoni. At last, Southend's Pentti-Kalevi Peura was able to shove the ball in. 0-2. After 39 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Grover Wright who increased Southend's lead to 0 - 3. The structure of the game started to change as Southend decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Some fine maneuvering on the left led to a Southend goal in the 41st minute, making it 0 - 4. Richard Cullis was noted down as the scorer. Haris Belegija of Teletubbies_2005 received a yellow card in the 43rd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Teletubbies_2005 had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to solid. Southend's Grover Wright received a play slashing through the home side's defense in the 45th minute, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 5 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The referee showed Southend's Richard Cullis the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The teams went for a halftime break at 0 - 5. Southend held the ball, with a clear 69 percent possession rate.

The Teletubbies_2005 players spent the halftime break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organization and regained a solid organization. A well placed corner kick from Oddone Grammatico was followed by Darrell Gaddis's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Southend, the score now 0-6. Southend's Richard Cullis received a play slashing through the home side's defense in the 61st minute, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 7 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The visitors' Jamel Bobichon took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs in the 75th minute. 0 - 8 for Southend. After 77 minutes Southend's Richard Cullis contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. The visitors' Richard Cullis took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs in the 79th minute. 0 - 9 for Southend. By then Richard Cullis was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The game had been on for 82 minutes when Oddone Grammatico broke through on the right, upping the score for Southend to 0 - 10, much to the home crowd's dismay. Richard Cullis came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal and lifted a ball over Darren MacMillan, but it was a little too high and hit the bar. Teletubbies_2005 seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organization. Southend held the ball, with a clear 71 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Teletubbies_2005 player was without a doubt Ken Bourva. Morten Mejer was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Southend player was without a doubt Pentti-Kalevi Peura. However, Darrell Gaddis made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 10.

That's a disaster. He's young (22) and I'll get 10 doctors in, but that still looks like 5 weeks out minimum.

F***ety f***... and I've got a huge league game on Sunday. Some emergency activity in the transfer market will be called for tonight, I reckon.
