Cup Competition Idea

I have an idea for a cup competition for the Betting League. This will be different to the Prediction league. The draw will be made and one match will be chosen by both sides.

For Example : DtS vs MK Shrimper (sorry but you were the first one on the list)

Match chosen : Man United vs Liverpool

Betting : DtS (Man United) vs MK Shrimper (Draw)

If Man United win then DtS is through, if it is a draw then MK Shrimper is through and if Liverpool win then there will be a replay.

Won't it then just be like a watered down version of the prediction league?

I think a cup is a good idea, but I would pit two posters together and give them the same amount of money and say allow them a maximum of 5 games to bet on. The one with the most profit goes through.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that would be a better way of doing it.

Do Prelims for the shockers like me & you at the bottom end of the table!! Or do it in groups? 7 groups of 4 with the top 2 going through with the best 3rd places joining the knock out stages?

Just a quick question. What do you think will be better for the groups?

1) Players vs Players and the winner gets 3 points

2) 6 games and the sort by cash earned.

Whatever people prefer, but player vs player sounds good. For "goal difference" have the difference between the winner & losers winning/losings!!

Maybe make the format as each player has say £100 & has to bet a single, double & an acculmythingy (can't spell!!) The player must bet at least a certain amount on each bet, say £20 & the skill is on how much they wager on their single, double etc?

That does sound quite complicated. How about this :

For each game (player vs player), each player gets £100 and they MUST use it all ..... thoughts?

Its just like the league (make a few bets) but you get £100 for each game and the person who makes the most profit in the head-to-head earns the 3 points.

e.g.

Game 1
Person A vs Person B

Person A gets £15 Profit
Person B gets £30 Loss

Person A would therefore get the 3 points. Simples :)
