Tomorrow at Crewe, we have referee Mark Haywood from Wakefield, West Yorkshire in charge (not to be confused with League referee Mark Heywood from nearby Northwich). This is his 6th season as a League referee and we have seen very little of him in that time.
In fact he has refereed us just once in the 2-1 defeat at Northampton last season with the game's only yellow card going to Mohsni.
He rose through the ranks quite quickly and his card count has always been comfortably the right side of average with reds in particular being low (none yet this season!). Getting plenty of Championship matches and has shown 29 yellows in 11 matches.
Assistants are scouser Peter Bankes and brummie Mark Howes with Joe Hull from Stockport holding the numbers board.
