How strange.

Crawley will have to overcome AFC Wimbledon in a preliminary round to reach the first round of the Carling Cup for the first time in the club's history.
It is the first time the competition has featured a preliminary round since 2002 and is required due to Birmingham's relegation from the Premier League.
Birmingham beat Arsenal to lift the trophy and as a result are seeded to enter the competition at the third round stage rather than the second along with the other Championship clubs. That means there is one less space in the first round and the two teams promoted to League Two must play off.
Crawley won a draw for home advantage for the match on Friday July 29. It means the pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient has been cancelled.
The draw for the first round of this season’s Carling Cup will be held at 10am on Thursday.
Meanwhile, striker Ben Wright has had his contract at Crawley cancelled by mutual consent.
Wright joined Reds last August but made only nine substitute appearances before being loaned to Hayes and Yeading and Newport County.

Come on the Wombles.
