He's 30 now. I thought he'd be a pretty like for like replacement for Gavin Tomlin.

Plus, if he had a chance of signing for us, the last thing hew should be doing is playing 5 aside, only has to get a knock and that would affect the chances. Interseted to know what he was doing there though.

Scoring ratio not brilliant..........did best with those up the road (32 appearances/12goals) and that was back in 2004/5. Hull, only 80/15 ...........since the 2007/8 season, up to now, 141/14 (that includes 2011/2 with Bradford City where he managed seven goals in 31 appearances)............hardly prolific. Can't we do better?

I take your point Jon but you can temporarily train on your own if your cathing up on fitness. But I agree with you, Why has Craig ramdomly chosen Southend to do this? Is he from the south or North? Either way if he was here, which I'm not disputing, then it must be its in the pipeline he'll sign here if his registration can be sorted quickly. I know you said he didn't know anything about it but I think theres an element of deliberate denial there. why else choose the souhend area if he is based miles away and no move on the horizon here?

Used to play at Col U so may still have friends here.

Correct he knows several people at Colchester he was at the WHCS towards the end of last season as a spectator. He is not the player he was because the main part of his game is pace, age and several fairly serious injuries have taken it's toll in that department but he would still be a decent clever player in league 2.

How many times have we used the argument "he'd still be a decent player at league 2 level".
its a shame our ambition seems only to extend to people on their way down.
