Corporate Xmas parties

Mad Cyril

The Fresh Prince of Belfairs⭐⭐🦐
My companies Xmas do runs from 7pm to 10pm on a Tuesday night and is scheduled for a date so early in the year it could be mistaken for a  Harvest festival.

Is anyone else being treated this shabbily over the festive period?

they didnt book our official xmas do ealry enough, and couldnt get a friday night in the end so it is on a saturday night, meaning i have to travel up to London Town on a saturday rather than going straight from work.

Mind you, it is a thourougly grand affair with partners invited, champagne reception, sit down meal (lobster starter, beef wellington main) and then some kind of comedian, plus you can claim back your taxi to southend!

Also there is the unofficial work xmas bash that we arrange, after work until midnight at a hired bar, buffet, music, kareoke, and the MD has just put £500 behind the bar for it!

Gonna be a good xmas!

Ours is always arranged late - this year it's on Friday 22nd and they still haven't confirmed the venue......

Bas Vegas?

just be grateful you work in business and not academia... our departmental festivities are restricted to a 2-hour boxed wine bash in a seminar room overlooking Deptford. thank god the pub over the road is cheap..

Ours are usually pretty decent. Free beer, food and women.
The majority of our 1500 staff in our london office are birds. Going to the Hayward Gallery for an 80's night this year. Everyone dresses up (thinking about going as morrissey) and usually ends around 2am.

nah - it'll either be a grotty boozer over the road or some overpriced, poncey bar in Soho.

Count yourselves lucky, we don't even get one!

Ours is on a Thursday, at the old Billingsgate Market. Dodgems, casino, arcades etc.

Also bonus day so it's either going to be a cracking night or someones going to get hurt on the dodgems.

Think yourselves lucky....There are only 5 of us so we go across the road in Borough High Street for a meal in Roast.

Last years do started at 5.30pm and ended at 7.45pm....Happy Xmas everyone.....

When I was at LTSB HQ in Moorgate I used to love it. Such a muff feast.....One year my mate pulled four birds on the dance floor in a ten mins period. You cant beat a large office for Xmas....

We're off to the Floating Lotus for a good traditional British Xmas dinner.
Shredded Duck and Seaweed.
chicken Chow Mein
and lashings of Champers and beer.

Are these festivities before or after your two weeks off?

We have to work christmas so we don't get a do, otherwise we'd realise we were missing something.

We do get a tin of Qaulity Street though. We used to get a couple of bottles of cheap plonk as well but that was stopped due to protests from non drinking, non christian factions in our workforce.

Rather than keep their gobs shut and just give it to someone else they cocked it up for everyone.

What do you do for a living then?

I used to have a job working in a sponge factory.

I also picked up some J-cloth / scouring pad experience too.
