Contrast in remaining home and away fixtures

Jam_Man

Life President
Looking through our remaining fixtures we seem to have a nice run in at home, whilst our travels are the devils work.

All of our home games are against teams in the bottom half of the league.

All of our away games, except one (MKD) are in the top.

3 of our 5 next games are away to teams in the top 7 so the team is going to have to be extremely resiliant to keep us in the top two.

Comes down to the old cliche that we need to win all our home games and pick up points where we can away..

On the subject of stats it is interesting to note that on our current unbeaten run we have conceded 5 goals in 12 games. Prior to that we have let in 23 goals in 19 games.

Long may our miserly defending continue.

I noticed that whilst going through the fixtures.

We have conceded less in 12 than we did on the 8 game winning streak, although we scored far more then.

Will be nice to go to Brentford on the back of 4 clean sheets, and hopefully we can do so by beating Rotherham on Friday.

I've noticed that our defence has looked a lot more solid recently, and it's continued solidity will be the key to whether we can get much out of these away games rather than the prolificness of our strikeforce...

Winning all our home games would gurantee us a playoff place. On the away games I look at it this way. Getting just a point at Brentford and Col******r and Swansea will be a point gained by us and two points dropped by them. If we can win all our home games and get points form jus 5 of our away games I reckon that will be good enough for automatic promotion.

On the subject of our defence I think since the arrival of Effe it has been as strong as ever. If I am right I think Effe has played 5 games now?in which time we have conceded one goal which was that super strike by DJ Campbell.

Also on another note what is Southend's record for most games unbeaten?

Efe has played a huge part in our solid defence, but you have got to give credit to Barrett who seems to excel at the left back role. Whereas Che is just competitent.

But how many red cards has Che received whilst playing at left back ?.

Thank you Efe Sodje (in part obviously)
