Contracts - Scott Spencer signs one and Steve Tilson wants one

I guess these are the best bits of news we've had in a while. Scott Spencer has put pen to paper and despite lots of people suggesting he may way out Tilly appears to be open to getting a new contract.

That is good news! Get the first signing in, now to see Scannell be announced as well I hope.

Scott will be good next year. Gives everyone a bit of confidence, as apparently Spencer was offered a contract by someone else. Not sure who, possibly just a bit of a rumor. I think he will play a big part next year.
Lets get a few more signed up and give everyone a bit of a boost, because we really need it!

Didn't take Tilly for a masochist..............perhaps he spends his Summer Hols looking at videos of last seasons defeats and reading, over and over again, Ron's blogs...........until he's convinced himself that we have a bright future.

Im glad screech has signed . I sill honestly think that him and patterson can be quite a decent front line for us, particularly if we have a midfield of Moussa grant laurent and scannell just behind.

Wonder how they got screech to sign! Must have been keeping him locked in a darkened room with no TV, radio or access to newspapers or contact with other players, & refused to let him out until he signed a blank peice of paper that then had a contract printed around it..

But again, 2 years at a salary within our means (& potential promotion clause &/or 25 goal bonus) is something plausible. Better that than him having a great start to the season & being flogged a la Barnard in January as he'll walk next summer...

All good points, hopefully he has a good start to the season and we tie him down longer around November. Similar to what we did with Laurent after he burst onto the scene.

Maybe he was persuaded by the club's ambitions, or Tilly being our manager, or he's just a bit of a loner? Seriously, if we had an option for an extra year under his initial 6-month contract wasn't him signing the new contract just a formality, or did we not have an option?

Of more concern is that Tilly has still not yet been offered a new contract, despite previous statements that one was being offered to him. Doesn't surprise me.
