No, but like most other strikers who we let go, he still managed to score the winner for Port Vale against us in 2005!.

Constantine played for Peterborough and Torquay the season they both went down in the same season, and followed it up by turning out for Cheltenham and Hereford the season the also both went down.

No chance of him rejoining; Tilly got rid because of the perception that Leon wasn't a team player.

As I recall, his tracking back and general work-rate was pretty dire; but then he scored 26 goals for us in a season when we were generally bloody awful, so (personally) that seemed like a reasonable trade-off to me.

I could be wrong but didnt Leon bin us rather than the other way round?

Thats correct, we offered him a new deal but he found it insulting I seem to recall, & ran off to Uncle Barry.

yep, he had that annoying ability of looking average, not trying too hard - but scoring goals.

The season he scored 26, he didn't score any "striker" goals ie. tap-ins, 6-12 yard finishes, most of his goals were scored from 18 yards or further out. And in that scenario, you're not likely to have another season like it again.

He was one of the most skilful players in what was, at the time, a very mediocre side. A Shakers-supporting mate raved about Constantine after a game up at the Gigg which he and I went to.

He was offered a hefty goal bonus, though, from what I heard.
