... to AFC Hornchurch, who became the first team in the English football pyramid to win their league on Saturday, as they won the Essex Senior League.

Their season average gate is quite impressive as well - they've been getting as many fans this season as they got in the Confrence South last season!

No-one knows yet - last year Enfield Town (the ESL champs for 04/05) went up the the Southern League Division One East (with Harlow Town, Barking and East Ham, Wivenhoe, Great Wakering, Ilford etc) but this year they're restructuring non-league level four (where AFC are being promoted to) so they may well end up in the Ryman league division one.

Yeah, it looks as if it might be Isthmian League Division One. Burnham Ramblers have also applied for the step up to Level IV and are likely to be considered as well as Hornchurch.  Other ESL clubs have applied (Barkingside, Brentwood Town, Tilbury and Waltham Abbey) but are apparently not likely to be considered. Neither Southend Manor or Hullbridge Sports have applied ...

Well done to them. Been cheering them on as much as I could all season and was delighted when they won on Saturday and Burnham lost.

Be nice to see them back up the pyramid as soon as possible, especially as a local.

Top two team go up in Essex League, with Burnham, Watham, Tilbury & Barkingside will fight for one more place.
