I must be honest, I am not normally the first person to say that i was wrong, so this is very hard(!) but here it goes:

After the dismal Christmas period in which we collected a derisory 1 point, I thought that we would be lucky to finish in the top 16 of the table, that T+B were on borrowed time and that the majority of our squad would need replacing as they were not good enough

18 wks later, and how things have changed. We are in the top 1/4 of the table, the squad looks like one of the strongest in the league and T+B have pulled off some inspired signings.

So all I am saying is that we have achieved what I thought was the impossible and whether they get trashed in the PO semis or get to Wembley, I will be backing the Blues 110% as the squad and management have done brilliantly!

UTB!!

Good post, Even though I never lost faith in Tilly and Brush I didn't think we would get anywhere near the play offs 3 months ago. This season has almost been as remarkable as our title winning season 2 years ago. Just hope we get to celebrate promotion aWembley this time.

Wont hear a bad word about Tilly... Top all round bloke... Love him!!

Dont know Brushy but I love him too!!!

Haha!!

Agree with all the sentiments about Tilly, Brush and Ron. Who'd have thought we would be in the play offs after the Christmas period. Inspired signings in the January transfer window.

i would also like to add a big thank you to all the players, you have been awesome

Brilliant post, i like yourself doubted the team around Christmas time, but Tilly and Ron signed some very good players in Jan and proved once again, that they know more than us normal punters when it comes to footballing matters.
Like yourself i will eat humble pie not for the first time over Tilly's management and team selection because over the course of a season he has mostly got it right, the guy is a Southend utd legend (over used word or not)

credit to ron martin as well for sticking with tilly and brush, too many chairmans would be shipped them out and got new staff in but he proved his loyalty. we are lucky to such a great management team and chairman.

It's an unbelieveable turnaround. New Year's Day verses Brizzle Rovers was a nightmare - we were worse than rubblish.

However, and I am not going to turn this into a Maher-knocking thread, that game was his last start (IIRC) - coincidence? I don't think so... The midfield is a lot more dynamic, and evidenced by the amount of late goals we have been scoring...

UTB - roll on Wembley.

p.s. Remember brothers and sisters - we do still have an outside chance of second...

It seems to me that stability in Management leads to stability on the pitch.

Ten managers in ten years was a disaster, when you get a succesful management team keep it together, even through relegation, well done Ron well recognised and well understood.

Well done Tilly and Brush and well done everybody, you've all worked your socks off!!!!

Absolutely and my point entirely when I was arguing with the Tilson out brigade earlier in the season, who all seem to be keeping a very low profile at the moment.

Well done to all at the club, onwards & upwards.

to turn it around after relegation without masive resources is a fantastic acheivement .... you can see total quiet respect for the managment from the players ..
