..... Keigan Parker has been released by Blackpool this week, which I find quite staggering. Regardless of which division we are playing in next season, he would be a very attractive proposition for us, and especially as he is now available on a free - I doubt he will be hang around for long!

I know this week is all about the playoffs, and silly season hasn't started yet, but he is certainly one to make a note of.

Scoring record last season wasn't great, but stats can be misleading - He was adored by the 'Pool fans the season before last when they went up, and he scored plenty then - and looked a very, very decent player when we played them home and away the season before last. I don't pay too much attention to rumours about drinking etc, after all, we have had our fair share of supposed troubole makes who have turned out to be fine. Just a thought anyway.

Stats dont always tell the full story but Im not excited by any striker who this season hasnt scored a single goal.

Admittedly its at a higher level but even Harrold scored one in the Championship.

You never know, Barnard hadnt scored either but Im sure theres a decent recent Blackpool got shot of him.

If good enough some wide players can be prolific goalscorers.

Constantine often played wide right for us - if not exactly a winger in the tradional sense - was often starting position.

Since we dont often play with a a big target man, the need to cut in and fire in shots on either foot, is more valuable quality than crossing ability.

The aerial ball from wide has not for some years been really productive part of our game.
