Strange, considering it’s a 5 minute job to submit a confirmation statement. Basic stuff. Won’t be anything to be concerned about anyway. Well, as long as it’s submitted sharpish!

Might need to update it since Gulati joined?

But apparently they know what they are doing..... this hardly fills you with confidence with this being such a basic thing.

This will confirm the shareholdings of all of owners of COSU. As it is the first one to be submitted (due each year after incorporation) I'd imagine they are just making sure everything is correct before submission.

Plus, as you say, there will most likley have been adjustments to this since Gulati joined the Consortium.

Unless they are looking down the back of the sofa for the £33 filing fee, I don't see anything to be concerned about.

I know this isn’t serious, just yet. But this sort of situation shouldn’t be arising. We shouldn’t be getting 🐀 type reruns coming back to haunt us.

It says that the confirmation statement is overdue, hopefully a minor administrative error that is easily resolved.

@Medway Blue - are the trust ITK about this potential strike off?

maybe someone should screenshot it and ping it to Justin
Already done.

It's because a confirmation statement hasn't been filed. The deadline was October, and COSU were waiting until all the paperwork was aligned re. Gulati's shares. But Companies House have been a bit reactive, so they'll have to submit an outdated shareholding list and then re-file once all the paperwork for Gulati is done.

Honestly thought it would be something in relation to this. You have to accept that the name Southend United will flag up red very quickly where 'Official' matters are concerned if deadlines or submissions missed. The legacy of the previous ownerships total disregard in such manners. The worst is always anticipated by the powers to be along with some of the fanbase too.
Can understand COSU logic but rules are rules and a lesson needs to be taken on board as the bad PR unfortunately outweighs the minimal savings in cost and time. But as Justin has said on many occasions they won't get everything right.

I guessed that was the issue, but I do find it strange or perhaps just naive that for the sake of just a few pounds COSU would try and hang out for the revised statement and not just submit and then submit the revision once ready.

Given the recent history of the club and all that went on under the rat, I would have thought that keeping a clean Companies House filling history and an unblemished HMRC record would have been top priority.

This sort of thing just causes unnecessary upset and worry amongst the fan base, and can attract a negative feel unbelievably quickly.

SOUTHEND United’s owners have allayed fears caused by an update on the Companies House website this morning.

A compulsory strike-off was issued against COSU FC Limited who took control of the Shrimpers in the summer.

But the matter will soon be resolved.

A COSU spokesman explained: “Confirmation statement is a record of shareholders at a point in time.

"It's filed annually and in COSU's case this is in October.

"We have delayed submitting ours, hence the Companies House notification, as we allocate shares to the various COSU member investment vehicles.

"Some of these take longer to allocate than others and we had intended to file once all shares are formally allocated.

"There is no fine or impact of a slightly delayed submission, however, given the notification and the anxiety it may cause our fans, we will file today and re-file as other COSU member investments vehicles come online."

Precisely the point I raised in my earlier post.

COSU need to pay attention to the little things, read the room of the thousands of fans that have Companies House & HMRC anxiety from years of stress under the rats guidance (or lack of)

A learning experience for Justin and the team, the saving of £33 has rather blown up in their faces.

This is nothing to do with HMRC.
