In a little under 24 hours, our hero's, proudly wearing the blue we love upon their chests, go into a true David and Goliath battle.
In Goliath's corner, we have a squad littered with top internationals and world superstars, that earn more money individually, per week than the entire squad in Davids corner put together. They are big and strong and defeat is very rare for this great monster.
In David's corner, we have a team with limited, if any international experience. A team that earn a modest wage, that wouldn't look out of place in the City in truth. They too are big, strong and proud. But maybe not quite equal to that of Goliath.
Head to head, there is only one winner in this monumental clash. Or is there?...
What Goliath lacks is 9,000 worshippers behind him. 9,000 people that will sing and shout, until they can no more. It is this army of worshippers that will help David overcome his fears, help him grow taller, stronger and more powerful than that of Goliath. Which ultimately, can lead to defeat of the beast, in the most unlikely of circumstances.
We are all part of David's army of worshippers. Whether you are at the battle ground come 20.10 tomorrow eve, or whether you are worshipping from afar. We all have the same common belief. The belief that David can defeat Goliath once more.
So brothers, sisters and children. Let's unite as one come 20.10 tomorrow eve, wherever you are. Let's sing, shout and encourage our little David onto defeat of the monster that is before him.
