Come back Clarky?

It's quite funny really how easily many people seem to be writing off our promotion hopes even though, (stressed) at the moment, it looks as though on paper, our team will be better than the one that won this division only 13 months ago. I guess it's just irrational football fan behaviour.

Bringing back Stephen Clark would be a step in the worng direction in my opinion. Yes, he's pacey but he offered little else. Besides, I understand he's very settled at Boots in London Bridge where he works as a Cash Handling Executive.

People have short memories. last time we got into League 1 we were tipped for relegation and ended up Champions. As always it's going to be an interesting season with, hopefully more new and quality players. Don't you just love this game? Come on you Shrimpers!

I am gutted as I thought this was a campaign to bring back wing legend Steve Clarke.

I have it from a good source that Clarky:( has since left Boots at London Bridge and moved across the concourse to the West Cornish Pasty Company in a big money move.

Dave, i've also heard from a reliable source (possibly gravy) that Clark has just signed an exclusive deal with said pasty provider. Appartantly he was impressed with the way his friend, Paul Byrne, sold the company to him.

Cash Handling Executive? Is that a similar level to a Morrisons Customer Goods Transfer Vehicle Director?

That's sad news. :( I know some people would say that every player naturally finds their level in the end, but The West Cornish Pasty Company?? Surely he could do better?

I always felt that his role at Boots would eventually open some doors for him. The doors to Boots at London Bridge lead straight to The Slug and lettuce across the road and with Clarky's obvious cash handling talent and pace around the bar area I'm sure he would have been an excellent left-sided glass collector.
