Coles crosses

Alex

Members
as per the previous thread about coles poor crosses i would like to add that some of them were meant to be like that. we all know southend has never been that good in the air and when high crosses go into the box the defenders head them away or our attacker puts the header over the bar etc.

its hard to score a header from a cross unless your about 6 yards out because you cant get as much direction and power as a shot with you feet. if cole puts a cross in around 6 yards out even upto 10 yards out the defender will clear it but most likely an average keeper will come out and catch the cross. thats a chance and possesion lost.

he hit some crosses in the box very hard and low where a player running from deep will pick the ball up and hit it 1st time, a screamer. or it could take a deflection off a defender and go in or out for a corner.

also he was varying his crosses so they didnt become too predictable. it was good play from cole, it just didnt work out on the day but it will soon.

stop moaning at him. he has just stepped up 3 leagues and made his debut. he caused port vale problems, he looks dangerous and know doubt will be our best player this season. he is our very own fancy christano ronaldo. he needs some encouragement

some of those crosses would of been ideal for russ williamson
