colchester down!!!!

not sure if any one has said yet
but due to results last night it has been confirmed that the scum are relegated

THEY ARE DOWN !!!!!!!

i will drink to that

Yes, we all rejoiced at around 9.30pm last night.

a pity. Clubs with limited budgets will always struggle as we did when we went up. It was an amazing achievement staying up as long as they did. It would have made a good derby for next season.

And it will quieten the argument we should have survived because Col U did so.

Hoping Southampton come down but looking like Leicester.

As was also the case with Scunthorpe this season. What concerns me is that assuming we went back up this season then would we still be on a limited budget until the new ground is ready?. And if so then we would surely struggle to attract championship calibre players for another season or so?.

As has been said before, the hope has to be that target players may be attracted because of the developments in the pipeline.

It will be extremely difficult to attract good players with the stadium still two seasons away.

Whilst I want us to get promoted I think we will struggle to remain in the division until Fossetts is built.

If teams like Leicester/Wednesday and Southampton struggle we dont have a lot of hope.

However who would have had Bristol City/Stoke in the top 3?

Difficult yes but thankfully not impossible.

At least we finished with more points and we didnt finish as the bottom team.
O.k they still have games left but cant see them finishing 2nd bottom

What a shame we wont be seeing them next season ;)

this is what i have been thinking. if we go up this season this will attract new players to join. with fossetts still being 2/2.5 seasons away i don't think this will mean a lot until the end of next season as players are always moving about in league 1.

Ron will not splash the cash and rightly so. Portsmouth lost 23 million this year. How on earth will they ever get that back, new ground or not. Tilly will be left in the same position as last time. Can he persuade players who we think can make the step up to remain, Bailey for example, can we sign players who would probably only sign if we were in the championship Mulgrew? and can he sign players from lower leagues who he think might made the step up which is always a huge gamble. Add a few premiership youngsters who will never get a game with their clubs and it'll be the same old struggle. However it's better to go up than not.

What terrible news :(

No derby games for us next season!

Ohwell who really cares... just have to get a pre season game with them to give them a lil pay back for what they did to us a season ago!

Up the Blues... Down the U's :D

7 of us travelled over last season for the 0-3 drubbing at the hall, and the Efe Sodje masterclass in how to perform a backpass straight to an opposing striker in the first five minutes...one of the worst days of my footballing life, hearing those ****ers in the north bank singing "Whats that coming over the hill..."

I feel a great sense of justice hearing they are now down. EI EI EI O, its down the football league you go :)

Time for the "are you watching colchestr" chant i feel again :D

Good Old days!

What a lovely feeling...

I am just off now to abuse the 16 year old Cockchester fan who keeps sending me abusive youtube messages as we speak.......
