Coach full of Swansea fans in Southend

Ron Manager

formerly Libertine
Loading up outside The Cricketers at about 10:30. Obviously having the weekend by the seaside and heading over the bridge for the game - hoping for a celebration tonight no doubt.

Anyone got tales to tell of a beano to a random place because it was near to a Southend away match?

Once a bunch of us stayed in Blackpool because we played Bolton and Oldham away within a week. It was during the annual Blackpool George Fomby convention so in the hotel bar there were loads of blokes playing the ukelele (spelling?) and singing "Leaning on the lampost".

Not quite, but I did stay at my Brother's in Oxford after the play-off final and took the opportunity to tour most of Oxford in my Townace with flags and scarves flying, got a lot of attention and some friendly waves (and some unfriendly ones, which was just as fun).

Hope you wished them well, Libertine, happy to see them get their turn in the Championship.

:goodun:

Southend could be an even more unfriendly place tonight than it usually is on a Saturday night with a load of drunken Welshmen around.

They never made it. The coach was destroyed by a stinger missile in Hadleigh around 11pm.
