Chris Moore

This is a modified caption
Chris Moore seems to have been picked out by the Beeb as one to watch in the conference. A 'rising star' at the age of 25 but is thought to be a late bloomed. Looks like he's scored plenty of goals and of course is fairly local.

Anyone know any more about him?

Yes.... Tilly enquired after him beginning of this season, however then we got in Freddy.

In the Welsh Semi-Professional squad for the non-league home international turnament. So he's got that against him!

Having been to a fair few Dagenham games, I've obviously seen a bit of him. So has Tilly because he's been to watch him a bit. He's certainly what I'd call a finisher. Not much pace about him and no ability on his right foot, BUT, he does get goals and pops up in the right place at the right time. I've seen him score some lovely goals and he's decent with the ball at his feet. He was prolific for non league Northwood before joining Dagenham, where I believe he's got 31 goals in 62 games.

Cardiff have been pretty interested in him recently, and I don't believe Dagenham would sell for anything less than £100,000.

Probably rules him out of the reckoning from our perspective then. I'm sure, if needed we could pick up a quality player for less, particularly with contract expiries etc.

D & R would sell for a lot less than £100k. It's extremely rare for any conference player to be sold for anywhere near £100k and Moores would be no different. Certainly is not the best player in the conference at the moment either!

Think it'd be much closer to a figure around £40k with add on clauses.

I personally do not think he'd strike up a good partnership with Freddy, and certainly not good enough to just be thrown into Championship football with a club like Cardiff.

I think we already have our targets set for new players and also for who we will release but it all depends on which level of football we will be playing next season.
I know a couple of our targets but must im afraid keep them secret for the mo'.

No most definately not!
However i have had it from a good friend at the club and the player has been mentioned elsewhere on here (not by myself i must add).

sounds like a clone of freddy to me. good on the ball, knows where the goal is and has the ability to score good quality goals and relatively no pace - lets not lie freddy aint roadrunner. if we had to, god forbid sell freddy looks like an ideal replacement but id much rather spend a bit of wonga on a couple of good quality wide players

Rumour has it around the area that Hull are seriously interested and a bid of £100,000 has been rejected.

So ner.

Gray has more potential pace than Eastwood, but the last few games he hardly showed it.

Freddy may not be the fastest player in the world, but IMHO, I thought he looked pretty quick.

Just as another update on Chris Moore. I've heard that he's now on his way to Hull afterall. Not sure on the fee, but it's decent.

So after all the times Tilly has been to watch him, Peter Taylor nips in.

I've heard this deal is now all off

And from what I understand of it - It was all to do with the size of the transfer fee and they wanted Chris Moore in for Pre-Season training before taking the gamble, which caused the transfer to collapse! (Not for the first time either!)

Time for Tilly to nip back in...

Just thinking about Chris Moore again (probably a more realistic target than Grant Holt)...

Was he a team-mate of Mark Bentley? If so that might help us, with Benno tapping him up (allegedly

)...

Given the success of Benno and Eastwood, if Tilly was to spend some money on Moore and give him a 2 year contract I'd trust his jugdment, considering I have never seen Moore play...

He looked bobbins against Orient in the FA Cup this season - though that probably had more to do with his midfield's general shoddiness than him...
