I noticed they had team numbers I.e. 1 to 11 as opposed to squad numbers and no names on their shirts. Any idea why? The other Conference teams did.

A lot of non league teams just have numbers as I'm assuming squads change a fair bit during the season so it's not cost effective to have names on there as well.

Starting 11's also wear numbers 1-11

Is it compulsory that number 1 is a goalkeeper or is it just traditional?

I don't see how that clashes with us then as our home shirt this year is 90% white

I did not say it was mainly purple :winking: actually it had black in it aswell and I guess with black shorts and socks. I don't know maybe it was only a minor clash, just offering an answer to the original posters question!
Maybe they wanted to do what we did at Chelsea and introduce a new kit to mark the occassion.

As mentioned above that Yellow kit was an emergency onefor that game. Their supporters unsurprisingly prefer it to the purple one now!
