Chester but not for much longer?

Blimey. Really hope he doesn't get his wish and the Chester owner stands strong.

there has to be similarities to Wimbledon and MkDons...... anyone who buys a team, and wants to call it anthing apart from the town where it comes from needs to be demoted 3 divisions.

or set up the Beano and dandy league

Or, just make it illegal unless 60% of the fanbase vote for it.

why illegal?

i know we dont wat the route of American football teams, in terms of franchises and stupid names..ie the southend sabres or colchester gladiators..but whats wrong with harchester, really?

You know what, this bloke is being exactly what everyone say they wanted Ron Martin to be. Up front and honest. He's not a nutter, he can see an opportunity to make money for a professional football club regardless of how many - or even if - fans attend. He wants to invest £2m and needs a return. The only way that can happen is by his sponsorship deals and a business with 27,000 potential customers (rather than the 2000 he mentioned that Chester have) is far easier to sell to.

Sadly, with football going the way it is, I can see this sort of thing happening more and more. The days when people are prepared to lose millions simply for the love of their club are past I'm afraid.

On the plus side, we could bribe the scriptwriters with Fish House haddock specials so we'd avoid administration and win the newly re-instated Watney Cup.

All of our games would be televised on Sky as well.

Sensible solutions for a better Britain.
