Question Chelsea game - an opportunity for Tilson and Brush?

Mad Cyril

The Fresh Prince of Belfairs⭐⭐🦐
Seeing as our promotion bid seems to have stalled a little does anyone else think that we should rest some of our key players for the Chelsea game and give some of the fringe/youth players a game?

Tilson/Brush could then assess whether they are good enough to re-ignite our bid for Championship status?

Who do you class as our key players? If you are referring to Barnard and Freedman, I say they need the minutes and match fitness.

Macca and Grant have hardly featured this season, so they need to get some games. Sawyer and Christophe had a good run of games before. Revell may have a case for being rested. Betsy has fallen out of form, Scannell has gone awol. Mildenhall is just back in the team.

Good idea but I think it would be beneficial to play people that haven't had a consistent run of games.

hang on, we wait years to draw a massive team in the F.A. cup, so we can pit ourselves against them, and you are thinking of dropping key players! what is the point? let's have it right, promotion is near on impossible at this point in time, so why not just concentrate on making history.

I don't see the point in dropping key players for a dream cup game. If we play our normal XI we will be lucky to lose 2-0 but if we start will our reserve team then it will be humiliating for us and morale will drop low and the younger players who played will lose alot of confidence. Just player the normal team, we are playing Herd at left back and I would be interested to see how well he does.

I am sure the players rested would be really chuffed to miss out on a chance to play one of the top Premiership teams!!! This thread has to be even more stupid than the 'Tilson out' threads.

anyone know who the referee is for saturday ?

A

I believe it is that absolute diamond Stuart Atwell who likes giving goals when the ball doesn't even go near the goal! Why change a habit of having rubbish officials though?!

Is this a new Carry On Film thread - Dreaming ?

I agree, think we should rest all of the first team players - they don't really give a stuff about playing one of the biggest clubs in the world and won't view playing in front of 41000 fans as a highlight of their career at all. We're going to lose anyway....

Two words. Cup. Magic.

At least Atwell might have given us that goal the other day when the goalie stepped back over the line.
