Just saw this on the Bristol Rovers site in their write up for tomorrows game. Obviously someone gets their squad info from the BBC website..

"Former Rovers defender Che Wilson is also 'on the books' at Southend and it will be interesting to see whether or not he makes the trip west"

Had to smile.

Terrible bit of research there by the person who does their write ups.

They probably got it from the BBC website, where our squad list includes Sankofa, Wilson and JJ for some reason

I saw Che in a pub in Girton (Cambridge) the other night. He has been coaching the University football team while studying for a qualification in sports science - or something similar. I think he goes back to New Zealand once he has qualified.

This is the sort of ****-up caused when people cannot refer to an updated official site (see separate thread). Researchers should be able to find out the correct information from the correct source. Moan over

im sure i served che the other night at the co-op down rochford road !

Been appointed as Head of Football at Bath University, effectively head of youth development, for Bath City in the Conference South

Would love to have him back at the club in a role like Maher has. Think he is an absolutely sterling bloke and wish him all the best in any venture he carries out. A true gent that always had time for his fans and a defensive God!

A bit of an insight into what Che is up to these days...

Thanks for posting this. Interesting, looks a great set up there. Good luck to him.

Found this. It doesn't mention his PhD, so it's probably a bit out of date. He's had quite the career since retiring as a player:

Che Wilson

And a thoroughly nice bloke too.
After the away game at Grimsby ended & we missed automatic promotion, we ran on the pitch to give comforting words to the players ( 47 yr old man behaving badly! ). I had a brief chat to Che, who had the time to reply which was nice.
But must admit, he hadn't used enough deodorant pre game!!.
