Chat room experience.

Bob Cratchitt

Devil's Advocate
After getting approx 33 people in the chat room tonite, I would like to hear back from people about their experience.

I know that there was a problem with the smilies which i am looking into.

Also noticed someone mention they did not like the background at the end of the day you cannot please everyone but in a way you can. If you goto Options and untick the Show Background checkbox - problem resolved. The system is quite configurable to your own needs.

Please remember lads no room is going to be perfect when it is first released. However please bear with me as I am sure I can iron out the issues.

I thought it was great. It looks far nice that the SOL chat room ...

I also think its a great chatroom, and is my only means of getting (relatively) live score updates for the next few weeks!

Andee, is there a facility to chat privately with members as I was having to use the invite function which isn't ideal.

Yes but I took it away as I do not want to overload the server in the early days, only Mods have this functions so they can warn people in private rather than a public humiliation. After all we know how stable the SZ server is at the moment and IIRC none of the other Sufc chat rooms had this function.

Too many text talkers and not enough Hattrick !

Yeah - really impressed with it....just one complaint however, it made me want to go down to the real Spread Eagle once the match has finished and I couldn't as I was on babysitting duty

I think the new chatroom is great, but my only complaint is that the background is a bit dark.

Blame the club for choosing such a dark blue for their colour.

As I said above the room is configurable, so if you do not like it that way goto options and customise it to your own personal taste, and if you leave and re-enter it will remember your choice.

Now how many other chat rooms can be so accomodating?

The Chatroom itself is ok, but during last seasons chatroom visits you got updates on the action every shot or corner and so on, in the first half 90% of the chat was just mates chatting.

Yes i do get the idea of a chat room but it just got boring, left at half time.

It's the start of the season and we haven't congegated for a long time.

Still, Cratchitt opened this thread for any feedback, technically, that he can work on if there were problems. The fact that people were socialising more than you'd like, rather than provide you with kick by kick accounts is hardly his fault. 33 people seemed happy enough.

I thought that the chatroom was great when I checked it out during one of the preseason matches. I've missed the first two games of the season because I've been out of town, but I hopefully I'll be around this saturday to check it out again.

I guess my comment was more of my experience on the site rather than feedback, so here goes: The Background is fine and the layout and options available are excellent.

Hope that helps

Hope you try coming back some time. It does get rather 'chatty' but remember, there are exiles on their talking to mates they haven't seen for a while.

Exactly....football is all about mates getting together and having a chat, either in 'real life' or on t'internet. Blimey, you'd hate sitting in our little bit of the South Upper with everyone chatting away and with banter flying around if you just like to concentrate on the game.

Ron on tuesday i did'nt have a radio so i wanted football chat in the chatroom but as OS said new season old mates catching up, which i understand. but as i am not part of the inner circle at SZ i found myself turning off and going to the rather slow Sky sports score centre.

I used to go in the f block so chatting throughout the game was second nature but my young lad singing the referee's a Wan ker shifted me to the family stand.

SS, don't be put off by coming into the chatroom. If there's a problem, ask me to talk to you in the room privately and I'll see what we can do to make it enjoyable for one and all.
