Deserves a mention I believe, behind in all 3 play-off ties but through adversity we still manage to get back into League One. Really does speak for the character and togetherness of this team. And I have to say we also played our part in all 3 ties, the support we gave the boys even when chasing games was absolutely fantastic.

Five years ago when the heart was ripped out of this club and the majority of the players were total strangers to the fans it didn't feel like "my Southend United." A far cry from today, totally united one and all! Fantastic! :loyalsupporter:

I've banged on about this trait in so many other threads. Ability makes you a player desire, heart and commitment make you better than others ! How team has this in abundance. Another reason why wholesale changes to bring in "better" players is not required. You rip the heart out of this team and you lose the main strength of the team. I see so many similarities with this squad as I did with the Tilly team. We must regain the core of this squad, that is where we will be better than other teams next season. You tinker too much and you've lost what got you there ! Stick with majority of what we've got and add a sprinkling of quality additions !

During the 46 game season, we have only come from behind 3 times - won 2 (Portsmouth A & Oxford A) and drawn 1 (Carlisle A) - yet we did it in all 3 of the play-off games.
