The PL League Boss⭐⭐🦐
What a start to the Prediction league with a massive 58 people predicting, including 20 new from the last session and about a dozen regulars missing from last term perhaps on holiday or perhaps just lost interest. Great as it is it causes problems as of those 58, 21 are in the first division (4 were AWOL), and 37 in the second division. Because of this I have decided that next session we will extend the first division to 30, so for this current session:

First Division bottom four relegated (as previously)
Second Division; Top eight promoted and the next four in the play-offs.

I trust this isn't a problem for anyone the alternative was to have a division three but if you find yourself in the bottom tier you could well lose interest and stop predicting. Extending the first division seemed the more logical way.

PREDICTION CUP
So we have 58 entered into the Cup so far, any "johhny-come-latelies" have until midday tomorrow to post their predictions for No.2 fixtures. after that tough.

The 1st Round Cup Draw will be posted tomorrow afternoon

1st Round ties to be played Tuesday Night.

DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR PREDICTIONS IN BEFORE 7.45 TUESDAY

Thank you Pete, can't believe I forgot after all your kind reminders, sorry!
When I did remember about 2.30pm my phone had run out of juice

I reckon a third division would have been good

I did give it a lot of thought to have three divisions of 20 each. However this would have meant five extra relegation spots from the first division, and half of the second division being relegated to the third. Most people would be fighting against relegation, this way virtually everyone in the second division has a chance of promotion. I think for some if they are relegated they lose interest and for a newbie to start in the third division might seem too daunting,

We may lose some by the wayside but If numbers continue to grow may need to reconsider in the future. Mind you if numbers increase I may have to give up the day job.

What do others think?

I would say that whatever you decide is fine with everyone, as ultimately you do ALL of the work!

However, I would have said 3 divisions would work better. I agree with what you are saying about lots in the 2nd division fighting relegation this season, but that does make it more interesting for many...

The main reason I would suggest 3 though, is because if you have 2 large division, there is the potential for quite a few people to get bored mid season, as they are comfortably mid table, neither going up or down. The smaller the divisions the more people getting promoted/relegated each season, keeping it more interesting and more important not to miss any predictions.

I'm happy either way and will go with the majority. I was rather suprised how many new members we got and had to really make an instant decision. This current session as it has started obviously must go as stated with the two large divisions, but I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. Currently 60 taking part, we can always do a revamp at the end of the next session. I think as long as we all know we stand at the start its not problem but can't change the rules half way through.

All feedback is welcomed!

Sounds like a democratic vote is the answer
